PRINCESA, LAGAYA SHARE SOUTHWOODS SENIOR GOLF HONORS

Willy Princesa came away with 38 Stableford points to capture the Class A crown while Bert Lagaya took the Class B plum with 43 points in the Manila Southwoods Seniors Trimester Birthday Bash golf tournament at Southwoods' Legends Course in Carmona, Cavite last Wednesday.
Princesa, a 10-handicapper, fired a gross 80 for a net 70 worth 38 points as he edged Mentz Deguito, who carded a net 71 from a gross 82 worth 37 points, for top honors in the premier division of the 18-hole tournament organized by the Manila Southwoods Seniors Chapter headed by president and chairman Paco Gonzalez.
Lagaya scored 43 points from a gross 81 and a net 65, besting Gil Domingo, who had 41 points from a gross 87 and net 71, for the Class B title in the event backed by year-round sponsor San Miguel Purefoods and supported by annual hole sponsors Anako Philippines Corp., Red Eagle Lending Investors Corp., Romago, Inc., Brainmaster, Megafiber, Goutritis and Cran UTI.
Romie Perdon shot 41 points from a gross 94 and ent 67 as he ran away with a 5-point victory over Gus Salgado, who had 36 points from a gross 97 and net 72, in Class C of the tournament supported by hole-in-one sponsor BMG Solar and hole sponsors Warbird Security and Investigation Agency, Wicks Realty and Development Corp., Forest Hills Golf and Country Club and Camp John Hay Golf Club.
Winning the fun holes were Cesar Lacuna (nearest the pin on No. 16 – 11 feet) and Johnson Caballeros (most accurate drive on No. 6 – 1'-9").
